British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge follows the global fight fans shared its support for the champion in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
