Operations Recommence at Edinburgh Airport After Major Air Traffic Control Outage
Air travel have recommenced at Scotland's primary international airport after a significant technical issue at the control tower grounded all flights.
All aircraft movements were halted because of an systems problem that arose around 08:30.
Several flyers were left waiting in planes on the runway during the disruption.
Flights Resume with Ongoing Delays
A statement indicated at 10:40 that flights had resumed, and thanked passengers for their "understanding and cooperation".
That said, considerable delays are anticipated to affect schedules. Services bound for London Gatwick, Bristol, Amsterdam and Frankfurt have been axed, with many others subject to postponements.
